A minimalist design with lots of white space and a technology-focused aesthetic may work perfectly for a SaaS company trying to communicate innovation and simplicity. But that same approach may not communicate correctly for a company whose main value is personal connection, tradition, or trust.

The problem appears when brands design based on what is visually successful somewhere else instead of thinking about what they themselves need to communicate.

Good design does not try to copy a specific appearance. It creates an experience that is appropriate for a specific audience.

For example, a B2B company selling technology infrastructure solutions probably needs to communicate trust, expertise, and security. Its users may be making important decisions related to investments, operations, or internal processes.
